The Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) is a program that targets individuals who desire to pursue a career in healthcare without necessarily having to undertake long-term nursing education. This program equips you to deliver the much needed care to the patients in the comfort of their homes.
Home Health Aides assist elderly, disabled or chronically ill persons. CHHAs are also effective in preserving patient dignity, comfort, and independence, under the guidance of registered nurses. This program is dedicated to practical skills of caregiving, and in a short period, you will be job-ready.

Certification & Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
- Have access to a computer and reliable internet for the first 60 hours of online training
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Be a U.S. citizen or legally authorized to work in the United States
- Be physically capable of participating in training activities, including lifting, transferring patients, assisting with mobility, and performing patient care tasks
- Be current on child support obligations
- Not be in default on student loans
- Not have been convicted of any disqualifying crimes, per the New Jersey Board of Nursing
- Pass a criminal background check and fingerprinting process
Required documents:
- Birth Certificate or U.S. Passport
- Social Security Card (for verification)
- Green Card/Permanent Resident Card or Work Authorization (for non-U.S. citizens)
- One official passport photo (2" x 2"), taken within the last 6 months
