We are excited to announce an opportunity for a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our expanding organization and support our new Private Duty Nursing service line. We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Nurse Manager to lead and coordinate our private duty pediatric and adult skilled nursing services. This vital role involves overseeing clinical operations, managing and supporting field nursing staff, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care for children and adults with complex medical needs. The ideal candidate for this Registered Nurse (RN) Manager will possess extensive private duty skilled nursing experience in both pediatric and adult care, strong leadership skills, and familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and compliance standards such as HIPAA, OSHA and NJ Medicaid and accrediting bodies such as ACHC, CHAP or CAHC.
Registered Nurse (RN) Manager Duties:
- Provide clinical leadership, supervision and mentorship to field nursing staff providing private duty nursing care in the home setting, including those experienced in trach care, ventilator management, tube feeding, IV infusion, catheter care, and medication administration
- Conduct patient assessments, develop individualized care plans and ensure accurate implementation, and oversee clinical documentation of the field nursing team
- Maintain compliance with state regulations, accreditation standards, and agency policies
- Manage discharge planning, family education, and serve as an advocate
- Collaborate with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits
- Conduct initial and annual staff competency assessments, performance evaluations, and provide clinical education and training
- Participate in hiring and onboarding process of LPNs and RNs
- Serve as a clinical resource for staff and families
- Assist with program development and expansion efforts
Registered Nurse (RN) Manager Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience (home care or private duty preferred)
- Prior leadership, supervisory, or management experience is a plus
- Experience working with complex medical needs such as those requiring trach care, mechanical ventilation and tube feeding
- Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
- Knowledge of home care regulations and best practices
- Excellent communication, coaching, and organizational abilities
