Event Overview
The Spring Celebration Party is a structured recreational social event designed to provide participants with a meaningful, enjoyable, and engaging experience outside of the regular program routine.
This event promotes socialization, inclusion, teamwork, and positive emotional expression within a safe, supervised, and person-centered environment.
The event will be organized using rotating activity stations, allowing participants to choose activities based on their interests and level of support needs.
General Event Information
Welcome & Transition
Participants will be welcomed by the Program Administrator. DSPs will assist with transitions, review the event structure, and support individuals in selecting their first activity.
Goals:
- Smooth transition

Outdoor Opening Activities – Backyard
These activities will take place before the activity stations and dance area begin.
Balloon Transport Challenge
Backyard
Participants will form teams of two. Each team will begin at one end of the designated area.
Rules:
- A balloon will be placed between the bodies of both participants.
- Hands may NOT be used.
- Teams must transport the balloon to the opposite end.
- The balloon must be placed inside a basket.
- The team that places the most balloons in one minute wins.
Objectives:

- Body awareness
- Structured fun
Sack Race
Backyard
Participants will compete in a friendly race using sacks. Each individual will hop inside the sack toward the finish line.
Rules:
- The first participants to reach the finish line will be winners.
- Direct DSP supervision at all times.
- Adequate spacing and safety precautions will be ensured to prevent falls.
Objectives:
- Gross motor coordination
- Physical endurance
- Active participation
- Motivation and engagement
Egg Hunting
Faith Day Habilitation
Participants will take part in a structured outdoor egg hunt. Plastic eggs will be hidden in designated areas, and each participant will use a basket to collect eggs within set boundaries. Eggs.
Guidelines:
- Clear boundaries and safety reminders will be provided.
- Walking only; no running.
- DSP supervision and adaptive support as needed.
- Time limit may be set for structure and fairness.
Objectives:
- Attention and visual scanning
- Gross motor movement
- Following directions
- Social interaction and inclusion
- Enjoyment in a structured setting
Lunch Time
Participants will enjoy lunch with friends in a structured and supervised environment. Lunch will include:
- Pizza
- Beverages
- Cookies
DSPs will provide supervision, assistance as needed, and support appropriate social interaction.

- Community dining experience
- Independence with support
Activity Stations – Big Activity Room
Participants may rotate between stations based on interest.
Temporary Tattoos
Participants may choose spring- or friendship-themed temporary tattoos.
Supervision:
- 1 assigned DSP
Safety Note:
- Only skin-safe, non-toxic tattoos will be used.
Objectives:

- Self-esteem
Create a Bracelet
Participants will create a bracelet for themselves or for a special friend
Materials:
- Beads
- Elastic string
- Decorative charms
Supervision:
- 1 assigned DSP
Objectives:

- Strengthening friendships
Photo Booth
A decorated photo area where participants may take pictures with friends and peers to create lasting memories.
Supervision:
- 1 assigned DSP
Objectives:
- Social interaction
- Confidence building
- Positive memory creation
Music & Dance Area
A DJ will provide appropriate, upbeat music. Participants may freely dance in a structured and supervised environment.
DSP Responsibilities in the Dance Area:
- Monitor safety
- Support appropriate interactions
- Provide assistance based on individual needs
Objectives:
- Emotional expression
- Social integration
- Positive sensory regulation
General DSP Responsibilities:
- Maintain continuous safety supervision
- Facilitate participation according to individual abilities
- Promote respect and inclusion
- Support functional communication
- Maintain structure and organization
- Ensure smooth transitions between activities
Dismissal
Participants will prepare to go home. DSPs will assist individuals with gathering personal belongings, organizing materials, and ensuring a calm and structured dismissal process.
